There's just something about the unknown that keeps me from being bored.
I love when David buys me flowers, writes me love letters, or just simply sends a text letting me know he's thinking about me (when we aren't together). I'm not a hard person to please.
I got home from work, and we decided we were going to go someplace.
He wouldn't tell me where.
And as I asked a million questions, a little smirk came across his face followed with the phrase, "I'm not telling you."
"Is it a restaurant?"
"I'm not telling you."
"Okay, will we be staying out late?"
"I'm not telling you."
"Oh, David, please don't take me downtown! I am just not in the mood for that tonight."
"I'm not telling you."
As he opened the car door for me he added,"and tonight we are taking my car, and everything is about you."
I have such an amazing husband.
When he turned the key into the ignition, Mat Kearney came on.
This particular CD is the one I had in my dad's car after my accident. It was the soundtrack of my last 4 months home.
"Makes me think of Colorado," he said.
Music helps us remember memories together - the bittersweet, in this case.
And then we pulled up to our destination.
I saw the sign and smiled.
Buca di Beppo.
Now, I'm a full-on Italian girl.
No, I'm not Italian, but tell me to cook something and you'll have a variety of pastas in front of your face (if I'm not making potatoes, another favorite).
We had been wanting to go here for awhile now, so we were both excited.
Another thing that has created a lot of memories between us is eating. What can I say? We love food! :-)
We were immediately greeted at the door and given a "tour" of the place through the dining area, kitchen, to the bathrooms, and back. It was a small place for a chain restaurant. The walls were filled with framed pictures - so much so that I didn't see any bare spots.
The customer service was outstanding, the menus were creative but the Chicken Canneloni and Antipasto Salad we shared were GENEROUS and YUMMY.
I am going to leave you with the best sentence I could ever state about Buca di Beppo:
We didn't have any leftovers.
Oh, and:
My husband is awesome at surprises.
That is way too cool! Congrats, Davey on what sounds like a great surprise for your wife. You are awsome, dude! Keep up the good work! Love you guys!
